Heather Harriman started Harriman Law after nearly 25 years of experience as a trial attorney at two respected Portland area firms. Serving primarily as a business and commercial litigator, her practice focuses on business "divorce," contract disputes, creditor's rights, and commercial litigation.
While Heather is prepared to take matters to court and ultimately to trial, sometimes disputes do not need court -- other forums might be more practical or economical. Heather has handled countless out-of-court negotiations, mediations and arbitrations, ensuring a more private forum and sometimes a negotiated resolution of the controversy.
Although Heather's practice focuses on litigation, her distinctive background enables her to draw from a wealth of experience to assist her clients in negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts and advising clients concerning various other legal issues, including commercial lease agreements, manufacturing agreements and corporate agreements, employment issues and operational issues.
Additionally, Heather volunteers as a coach for high school students participating in the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution put on by the Center for Civic Education®, which includes a simulated congressional hearing designed to “allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of constitutional principles” before a panel of community volunteers including judges, lawyers, teachers, legislators and other volunteers.
